Looks like a pretty nifty window management app for the Mac. I’ll give it a try when I get off of work and get off this Windows PC. From what Ben Brooks says, it has a generous free mode that gives you time to get used to it and liking it before taking the small $5 plunge.

Take a bunch of Markdown-formatted files in Dropbox, or even a blog’s RSS feed, and make & sell eBooks from it. Very cool idea… but how many real use-cases are there for it?

Mobile as in Automobile
Apple’s got $70 billion in cash - enough to buy any phone company they please. Of course, they’re not going to do that. The likely goal of Apple amassing such cash is to build a cash buffer that can withstand a revenue collapse, a new Great Depression and a nuclear firestorm all at the same time. Maybe Apple has another option, though. (Disclaimer below if you’ve already...

Public Manipulations →
MG Siegler just wrote a very interesting article ripping into Facebook’s PR group. Now we get to witness their PR try to damage-control their failed damage control. Can’t wait to see how they will respond!

Nice job Tumblr!
Tumblr had been having (and is probably having) major scaling difficulties in the past few months, and it was notorious for being down for large swaths of time. But I can’t help but notice that Tumblr has been pretty solid lately and is definitely proceeding in the right design direction. It’s still not perfect but I’m definitely glad I stuck around.
Of course, I’m sure...

Earbud Recommendations?
I’m looking for a pair of sub-$100 earbuds that both sound better than the $70 Apple premium headphones and have an in-line iPhone control of some kind.
Google has proven absolutely useless to me in this regard, and the best ones I can seem to find are these A-JAYS headphones that look amazing but are criticized for their lack of bass. That said, earbuds by design really can’t have...

Some Quick Thoughts on WWDC
Apple integrates Twitter across the OS. Instant hilarity… several months ago Ping launched with a whimper partly because Facebook yanked sharing ability after the last minute. Now Apple says “you can go to hell, we’re going all-in on Twitter!”
I get the sense that with iOS5 that the OS has reached a level of maturity. Any additional features they’ll add will be...

Sounds like sound advice to me.

My New Phone
I had an interesting set of circumstances last week: since I’m still on my parents’ family plan for my cellphone, I had an opportunity to upgrade my phone only about seven or eight months in, but I had to do it immediately. So, I went straight for the black 16GB iPhone 41. Yes, I know that buying a phone a week before WWDC is typically a horrendously stupid idea, but I’m betting...

Basically he said what I just said, but from a different point of view and more eloquently.

The Dual-Mode Dilemma
If you haven’t seen it already, check out the video that Engadget posted. Microsoft today revealed what Windows 8 has a good chance of becoming.
I’ll give Microsoft points for trying something different. I wouldn’t call it original, since they’ve already built the OS in phone form, but it’s better than just “Windows 8: It’s got an app store now!...
