This is a very good point to remember. Ever shop on Amazon? It doesn’t ask you for a login or to register until absolutely necessary. Even the “your account” page is accessible without logging in, because it doesn’t need to access your data until you click an option within the page.
Other sites, like Tumblr, ask for a bare minimum, then let you go to work. This is good, because I was skeptical that Tumblr would serve me as well as my Wordpress blog had been, but I was just motivated enough to try. I don’t regret it at all, and I might still be running that WP blog if I had to go through a ton of hurdles. These are the ways forward in user management.
