Making Print Look Blurry
The upcoming iPhone will probably have a 320ppi screen. By contrast, 300 dpi is the norm for many printed documents.
When was the last time you noticed the dots when you’ve looked at a magazine, or product label, or something else you read at an arm’s length? Unless you carry a loupe around with you everywhere, the answer is probably “not recently.” The next iPhone will look so sharp that you’ll need magnification to tell where the pixels are.
Needless to say, this is going to be huge. In fact, it’ll make the typical display, which is usually <100 ppi, look like crap.
