Newspaper to Charge People to Comment

Could be interesting to see how this plays out. It’s already getting some ridicule (though admittedly this is also the site that trashed a web font service just because Google has a free one), but increasing the barrier to entry and eliminating anonymity could make for positive changes. It could also play out like Blizzard’s Real ID debacle. I’m not willing to put money on which way it will go.

Or it could be an attempt to add a revenue stream. This is a newspaper we’re talking about.
